We R Blighty Ensures a Warm Home for Veteran Seniors this Christmas

Latest news from our team at We R Blighty!

Just in time for the holiday season, We R Blighty is thrilled to announce the acquisition of a residential property as part of its expanded mission to provide shelter to homeless veterans. This house, situated in a peaceful region of Thanet, is prepared, and waiting to welcome John of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), and Mark from the Catering Corps, who are both veterans over 60.

This move marks the first time We R Blighty has ventured into property acquisitions, augmenting our existing focus on boats to provide a broad spectrum of stable living conditions. Adorned with all necessary furnishings and set close to local amenities, the house offers everything required for our esteemed veterans to lead comfortable lives.

We acknowledge that many veterans face an uphill task when attempting to secure private rentals due to the lack of credentials often demanded by landlords. These challenges often result from circumstances inherent to their military service, which can leave gaping holes in their rental or credit history. Homeless veterans, in particular, grapple with these hurdles, making it exponentially difficult to break the cycle of homelessness.

We R Blighty has stepped up to address this issue head-on by renting properties on behalf of veterans and stepping in as guarantors. This initiative offers landlords the security they need while providing veterans with much-needed housing without the rigmarole of conventional processes.

As we celebrate these recent acquisitions and advancements, they symbolise more than mere property transactions. They represent renewed hope, restored dignity, and the promise of a brighter future for our nation’s veterans. This remarkable accomplishment underlines our commitment to the relentless pursuit of a world where no veteran is left battling homelessness.

We will continue with tireless dedication into the new year, working to secure more homes for veterans who have served our country. With the support of our community, we remain optimistic about making our vision a reality.
