Ex-Royal Engineer Ronnie Finds Home and Community Aboard

Big news from our team at We R Blighty!

We are delighted to share that ‘Ronnie’, an ex-Royal Engineer, has ended his period of homelessness by moving aboard his very own boat.

This perfect location along the coastline offers a beautiful setting in Kent, a short distance from one of Kent’s most popular villages. The vibrant marina available to Ronnie boasts a range of amenities including shower blocks, toilets, and a shop. Ronnie’s new boat is well-equipped with mains electric supply, an onboard kitchen, a shower, a toilet, and a cosy, double-sized bed.

It was an eventful 10-hour journey across the waters and through the English Channel for Ronnie, along with Ben, Max, and Tom. Their destination? A stunning coastal spot that Ronnie can now call home.

But it’s not just about the picturesque location or the cosy boat. Life on the Marina offers something that’s invaluable – a community. As an ex-serviceman, camaraderie is something Ronnie holds dear, and the community of fellow boaters will undoubtedly provide companionship and shared experiences.

This is the third boat that We R Blighty has commissioned. The first boat is well underway, and we have plans to bring a fourth boat into the fold very soon. Each vessel is a testament to our commitment to providing resources for veterans, helping them shift seamlessly into civilian life.

We look forward to updating you on more success stories soon, and welcome Ronnie into the warm bosom of our boating community. After all, we’re not just providing homes; we’re helping to build a brighter future for our heroic veterans.

We’re aiming to raise £20,000 to finance the refurbishment of 3 boats which will become new homes for homeless veterans.
